Back In The Game!

What if nothing is anyone else's fault?

What if we took 100% responsibility for everything in our lives? And I mean everything!!

That debt you have, your responsibility. The bad relationship, down to the part you play. The lack of energy from being overweight, you’re choices!!!

A radical act of total responsibility.

It can seem like a radical act, taking 100% responsibility for everything in our lives. Because it is way way easier to blame someone or something else for our problems and what shows up in our lives. The blame game is the most common game.

What if we choose to be uncommon?

What if we choose a path that is harder but way more rewarding? What would our lives look like?

I am a student of this lesson.

Please know I am in no way preaching as someone who has this down – hell no. II blame external things for how I act all the time. The person I blame the most for how I react and feel?? Any guesses??

My husband!

If I’m mad, it’s because he did something, or didn’t do something. It’s because he spoke to me in some sort of way. It’s because he did (fill in th blank of any blame/excuse I can make).

Often our closest relationships take the brunt of this and is the place we take the least responsibility. I know that to be true in my life.

Guidance from spirit.

As I was considering what my next topic would be, taking 100% responsibility landed in my spirit as the thing to write about. Later Sibo and I were talking and he used the same sentence. We both laughed at the ways we do not take 100% responsibility in our lives.

Giving away your power.

There are two fundamental truths that I have learnt from out sourcing responsibility in any area of my life. I’d bet the same will be true in your life.

That response does two things.

  1. it stops me taking responsibility. I am simply shifting the blame for how I am showing up somewhere else (like onto my hubby for example!!).
  2. I am giving away all of my power. I am putting myself in victim mode, in a helpless place where I have no choice, no autonomy or power to change.

That is a huge amount of personal power to give away.

Let’s flip the script then.

So if we take responsibility for everything in our life. Hard as it is, I do not deny, it is an incredibly empowering state to put ourselves in. It puts us back in the driver seat of our life. It gives us the autonomy to change ourselves, our circumstances and ultimately our destiny.

That is pretty powerful stuff! Imagine if we all took 100% responsibility for everything in our lives – and I mean everything! What would that look like? What would the world look like?

Choose one thing and own it.

Take stock of your life and the areas where you are not taking 100% responsibility. Where you are giving away your power.

Unsure where, then listen to how you speak. Where are you making excuses or blaming someone or something for things not working in your life?

This week my challenge to you, Reader.

Choose one area, just one and for this coming week. Remove all blame and out sourcing of responsibility. Own it and be 100% responsible for this area of your life.

It’s an ongoing process of learning, trying it and improving. But after all, isn’t that what life is all about!!

It’s not about being perfect, lord knows I am now. It’s about trying to improve and get better in those small 1% ways.

I still blame Sibo and react often, my goal is to catch myself quickly when I do and to name it, to own it and to take responsibility for how I respond and react.

Let us choose to be extraordinary, not ordinary.

With love,

💛
Emma
